Boot Camp Clique has been mentioned in the "Berkshire Eagle" Huzaah!

I've added a link to DJ Earworm's book - which you can purchase from Amazon, if you want to get hold of a book about making mashups.

New Tutorial
This is a tutorial on how to extract an acapella from a music DVD - written by a GYBO regular from France - ToTom. Thanks go out to him, for permission to list this (even though it's taken me months to get round to it!)
How to extract an acapella from a DVD

05th Jan 2007

Happy new year to you all! (or happy Hogmanay, as we say in Scotland!).

Hopefully 2007 is going to see the expansion of BCC, and the addition of some more articles, tutorials and resources for all you mashup artists.

The press coverage is still out there, and we are always looking for people to spread the word.

As soon as I have some spare time, I'll be formatting a couple more tutorials for the site, and getting them sorted out. I've also added a part to the 'How to get your mashup out to the world" article with the kind help of Adrian & Mysterious D from 'Bootie'!

All the best for 2007 - let's hope it's a good one.

Well, it's all kicking off. It might be rather slowly - but we're getting there! Don't worry, I've not forgotten about the site! I've been a little short of time these past months, but now that the festive season is almost gone, I'll be able to set aside a few more hours to update the site a bit more.

Keep your eyes peeled for some new articles and tutorials before the end of January.

In the meantime, I'll mention the press we've recieved so far...

The Bootie Blog have kindly posted about BCC, with an addition to their community links too. BCC has been mentioned in the Columbia News Service alongside a mention of GYBO and some mashup information. Simon Iddol has posted on his site about BCC, with a short description. And Matt Hite, over at Beatmixed has also shown his support with a post about the relaunch of BCC. Thanks to all those who posted and linked to BCC, and also to those who have been spreading the word in the various forums around the world. We're getting somewhere.

All this renewed interest, is spurring me to get my finger out, and sort out some more resources!

OK, I've mastered CSS and XHTML to bring you a new Boot Camp Clique design, complete with easy to access boxes at the top with the latest additions. I have just finished a lengthy article or tutorial, as it were, on running your own mashup night. Hopefully this may inspire you to have a go at the promoter gig.

Just finished re-working an older Dsico tutorial/article on getting started (How To Mix It Up). Also added Dsico's acapella extraction / phaze inversion vocals tutorial.

14th May 2006

Trevor Janega has provided BCC with a new article on music sampling and it's effects on the industry and culture. A well informed article giving a great overview on the topic with some excellent references. Kyan has also provided a discussion on mashups and the associated culture that aims to be part of a bigger discursive exercise. Both articles are well worth a good read.

Well, I've just finished my Acid tutorial, which took me all afternoon to do. Hopefully it will help some people out. I'm going to try and build up a load of resources tonight for an update tonight or tomorrow too.
